Do People Support a Vaping Flavor Ban in the USA?

A flavored vaping ban is on the horizon - do you support this possible legislation?

In a recent M3 study, we found a major discrepancy between American patients and healthcare professionals.

Recently, JUUL Labs Inc, a leading vape company, announced the removal of all non-tobacco vape flavors in expectation of the Trump Administration banning all flavors besides tobacco.

Critics of the expected ban say smokers using vapes to quit are losing options, while supporters of the ban believe non-tobacco flavors attract underage vapers. JUUL Labs Inc has stopped offering all non-tobacco flavors online, and have stopped accepting orders from stores for flavors. There are an estimated 5 million underage vapers in the US, and the shift away from flavors is expected to help curb new vapers.

We asked both patients and healthcare professionals in the USA to share their thoughts on a possible ban.

"Are you in support of Legislation banning non-tobacco flavors in e-cigarettes?"

While both audiences believe a ban is good, an overwhelming percentage of healthcare professionals believe more needs to be done. For patients, the difference is much smaller. Only 54% of respondents outside the healthcare industry think the ban is a positive move. A quarter of patient respondents feel that this ban isn’t just bad, it’s an overreach of legislation.

  1. A ban on any and all substances that may potentially lead to the types/s of acute damage we have seen in the recent past and associated with the use of vitamin E acetate. The very notion that the FDA attempted (foolishly, but typical) to blame THC is preposterous, especially when one considers the CBD molecule never had a pointed a finger at it, yet it’s structure is so close to that of THC, it would be quite surprising not to see any association. Back to the question. Any safe vaping is far safer than smoking, as it precludes the inhalation of toxic chemicals created at and above the combustion point (451F..thank you Mr Bradbury) of cellulose.
